How to Earn Your Texas Real Estate License

Complete Your Pre-Licensing Education
Enroll in our state-approved pre-licensing courses and complete all 180 hours to meet Texas's educational requirements for licensure.
Pass Your Course Final Exam
Successfully complete your course final exams to demonstrate mastery of essential real estate principles and satisfy graduation requirements.
Complete the Background Check
Complete the required fingerprinting and criminal background check in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC).
Apply for Your Texas Real Estate License
Submit your sales agent license application to the Texas Real Estate Commission along with the required documentation and applicable fees.
Pass the State Licensing Exam
Licensing exams in Texas are conducted by Pearson VUE Examination Services. You must make a reservation with Pearson VUE no less than 24 hours before your examination date. You will be expected to provide a non-refundable examination fee. You need to get a score of 70% or higher to pass the state real estate license exam in Texas.
